​The student bar lounge venue, Samfunnet (Society), is owned by The Student Welfare Organisation, but run by students. Samfunnet is located on campus and is a natural meeting place for students. Samfunnet consists of a large hall with a concert stage, lounge bar, and a smaller venue for various arrangements.

The International Student Union (ISU) in co-operation with The Student Organisation provides a good range of social activities such as quizes, films, music, food parties and coffee hours so that new and old students can mix and get to know one another in a friendly atmosphere. Apart from this the students naturally arrange a lot of social activities together in their own free time.  

The city of Bodø itself offers a variety of opportunities for socialising, including restaurants and quaint cafes, cinema and live music venues.  Each year in August, Bodø hosts Nordland's largest rock and pop music festival, Parken, featuring both national and international artists.

Many venues, such as the Nordland Cultural Centre, offer student discounts.
