  • Advanced search and organisation in Endnote.
  • Modification of output style templates.
  • Referencing in Microsoft Word for longer research projects and journal publications.​
  • Collaborative research using EndNote - benefits and drawbacks of EndNote Web.
  • Integration of Endnote and Endnote Web libraries.
  • Open problem-solving forum (workshop-ing of individual issues and questions).
  • How to solve Endnote issues without assistance.
Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the workshop, participants should:

Knowledge

  • Have gained advanced knowledge of Endnote referencing software.
  • Have gained knowledge about Endnote Web.
  • Have gained knowledge about "self-help" tools on the Internet.

 

Understanding

  • Understand the higher functions of Endnote to a level where they can solve common issues without assistance.
  • Understand the benefits and limitations of Endnote and Endnote Web for collaborative research.

 

Skills

  • Be able to organise references in SmartGroups.
  • Be able to modify and create new output styles.
  • Be able to locate, select and modify referencing output styles to suit longer/advanced research projects and journal publications.
  • Be able to create an Endnote Web library and integrate this normal Endnote.
  • Be able to import references into Endnote Web, directly and from normal Endnote.
  • Share Endnote libraries with a research partner.
  • Be able to locate the answer to a working issue on the Internet and use this information to solve the issue.
