BLIX is the University´s publishing archive. All documents published in BLIX are openly accessible in full text. BLIX contains research reports, dissertations, master´s theses and bachelor´s theses.
The purpose of BLIX is to draw attention to research at the University as well as make research and student work available for a larger audience.
In Norway, the institution archives of all Norwegian universities are available through a national database called NORA (Norwegian Open Research Archives).
Students: Publish your work in BLIX
Students who publish in BLIX make their work available for everyone. It will be searchable through Bibsys as well as Google.
When you hand in your paper for marking, select “yes” on the delivery form to notify your teacher that you want your paper published electronically. You will also have to sign a consent form to satisfy copyright laws in Norway. This is to say that you agree to the University reproducing your work online, with credit given to you, the author. If your work satsifies the selection criteria of the University, it will be published online after grading.
Have you already delivered your paper? Are you a graduate who wishes to publish previous student works? Contact the Library to complete the agreement and have your paper published.
PhD candidates and employees: Publication of dissertations and research
Publication in BLIX provides secure storage of research work and ensures that research is openly accessible. Publication in an institutional archive is naturally a supplement to traditional publication, not a replacement. BLIX, via indexing in Google, NORA and DART, makes papers and research more visible.
Publication in BLIX satisfies both NRCS and the EUs 7th framework programme requirements for Open Access publication.
Dissertations, journal articles, papers etc., can be published in BLIX as long as publication is not hindered by agreements with other publishers. The majority of publishers allow authors to release work in their own institutional archive although possibly with certain conditions.
Feel free to contact the Library for assistance in publishing your research in BLIX.
