Getting to Bodø is easy by train, air, road or sea as the city is a communications hub for the whole region.

To get to the university, students and other visitors need to take bus nr.1 or a taxi from the city or the airport to the main campus located at Mørkved about 10 km from the city centre.

Below is an overview of transport methods and providers for travel in and around Bodø as well as around Norway and Europe.  Most websites are available in English. The bus timetable is, however, only available in Norwegian. If you are having trouble understanding the schedule, you can ask for help at the university's Information Desk or at the bus service centre located in the city centre.

Bus transport

Most students purchase a monthly bus card to travel from the university to Bodø city centre. New and more frequent bus routes running from the university to the city centre and on to the airport have recently been introduced. Bus routes nr.1 and nr.2 (from student hostel Flatvold) run regularly from Bodø to the university on weekdays, with a somewhat less regular service being provided at the weekends.
